Couch Potato to 5k

Lately I’ve been feeling like a couch potato!! I hate this feeling too. I haven’t been back to the gym since the hubby’s surgery and I can definitely tell...more like feel the difference! Being on birth control doesn’t help either. I can say that right?? We’re all girls here!!

So, I’ve registered for the Run For Relief 5k. I’m so excited about this because ALL proceeds go to the people in Burma. There is a war going on against their own people in Burma. More than a million people are either on the run or hiding in Burma's jungles. For me, I've signed up to run this course in support of the people in Burma. For them, they have no choice but to run. They have a flip flop division where you can run the 5k in flip flops. When they are fleeing from their homes, they run in flip flops or bare feet. I thought this was neat because it's kinda like a day in the life of a person living in Burma. I've already started training..not that there's much training to go into it. It's only 3.1 miles but I don't even remember the last time I ran 3 miles! Maybe this will help whip my butt into shape!

  1. good for you Jen! I really need to do something like this. I figure if I have a goal in site, it will force me to train right? =)
